2012 6HR of MST ~ A great MTB community deserve great trails

Well, we said we were going to do it and we did.  1 trail, 2 sides of the road, 6 hours of racing, 40+racers and lots of fun.  A great MTB community deserve great trails and that's what we're about, given the feedback we're receiving it sounds as though we're getting close.

 The Start

The Causeway actually worked as planned

Thanks to all the great volunteers that have been coming out over this long hard Summer to get the Campground Trails ready to go for this event.

Two-Way traffic worked out just fine under the bridge

We have ton's of great photos to share with you including StevO's fb photo album.

 Rock Gardens Galore

From out of the intertubes and just down the road in the Triangle area comes VirtKitty's excellent write up at Podium Cafe.  While we're at it, here is VirtKitty's entire flickr photostream from the event.

Tommy Rogers put in some blistering laps in his first race after a terrible collarbone break

Here are more great shots that show us a view on Charles and Aaron's photos from the day.

For the geekier side of things we have STRAVA files from the whole shooting match.

Switchbacks and Suffering... it must be a Brave New World

As soon as I find  Kerry's great video I'll post it up too. Update:  I found it.

Finally, a big thanks to all our sponsors, Forsyth Medical Center and Novant Health, Cane Creek Components, DeFeet, Great Outdoor Provision Co. of W-S, local downtown W-S institutions Foothills Brewing and Krankies Coffee, the super supportive bike shops Mock Orange, Cycletherapy and Clemmons Bike Shop, the local Stokes County businesses Dario and Danbury General Store and the super delicious 7 Deadly Zins vino.    Go visit these folks, they make this stuff happen.

  1. FYI - the link to "StevO's FB photo album" seems to link to something other than said photo album.
