Write those emails!

Encouraging news people, it sounds like our email campaign is having an effect!  Now it's time to go all in.  In bike racing terms, it looks like we've got a gap and now we've got TO MAKE IT STICK!

In addition to those emails coming to Dr. Stewart (marshall_stewart@ncsu.edu), now please also include the other email addresses below.  If you have already sent an email, then please forward that email to these other folks.  If you've not yet sent an email, then please do and include these gentlemen in your contacts.

The folks that also need to hear from you are Joe Zublena, head of Cooperative Extension (joe_zublena@ncsu.edu), Richard Linton, Dean of the NCSU College of Ag and Life Sciences (richard_linton@ncsu.edu) and W. Randolph Woodson, NCSU Chancellor (Chancellor@ncsu.edu).

Again, please be polite to these hard working men, they simply need to know FROM YOU, how important Moore's Springs Trails and Moore's Springs Campground are to you and your quality of life.  Thanks them for the opportunity to continue to use this wonderful resource for the good of our community.

Thanks to you all for taking such great care and stewardship of these great places.  I'll keep you posted.  If you have any questions then please feel free to call me or contact me here.

Tobacco Road Classic Sept 8th

MST is proud to announce that we will be hosting the Wake Forest round of the Tobacco Road Classic a part of the Collegiate Mountain Bike Series, on September 8th.  This event will bring college racers from across the Mid Atlantic to experience our great trails.  This event will only be open to students participating in the collegiate series.

We're looking forward to hosting more and more races at MST and bringing racers and riders to our beautiful mountains.

As always, thanks to our many volunteers and sponsors that contribute to keeping MST ready to go for these events.  We could not do it without you all.

Race Time!

"Come and get it y'all, I've been slaving over this for hours!"

Update:
*This will be a fairly straight forward XC race, with multiple laps on the 'Farmhouse' Side of MST.  Expect a short Prologue Lap, more details soon.

We're excited to welcome back many of our sponsors from last year and to extend a big welcome to Dario Restaurants as a new sponsor.  In keeping with our 'local is best', Dario rolls out some great food and a great environment for the family.  Go check them out after the racing in King and Stanleyville.

Also a big thanks to Cane Creek and DeFeet, two top tier NC bike industry leaders who make some of the best gear on the planet.

Of course, we would not be doing this without the support of great local bike shops like Cycletherapy, Mock Orange, Doc Wheelies and Clemmon's Bike Shop.  These guys are all friendly, willing to help US put on great races and happy to help YOU get a bike and keep it spinning.  Go give them your business!

Last, but certianly not least, thanks to Foothills Brewing, Krankies Coffee and Great Outdoor Provision Co. for their support and for their great local businesses.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to call, leave a comment below or hit us up on facebook.

Thanks to all of you who help make Moore's Springs Trails great!

Race Updates

I've been slack in keeping the MST blog updated, so here we go.  First off, we've postponed the date of the Summer XCO race because I've just not gotten the word out.  You probably didn't even know we had one coming up did you? (See I told you I'd been slack)

Well, the NEW RACE DATE is SUNDAY July 21st

This race will be straight up XCO with multiple laps on a part of our trail system (we'll come up with something good for you).  Look for Men's and Women's races for Sport and Expert racers and a Singlespeed category.  It'll be fun.

Now that you know about that, keep it in mind and plan to turn out.  We'll have lots of great prizes from our sponsors.  So, STAY TUNED!

To whet your appetite for racing, here are some photos of people racing.  These are all from the MST on the May 29 Round of Racing in the Woods' Wednesday Night Training Series.  (Sorry that they are a bit blurry, I used an iphone in low light, on high speed subjects, so sue me.)

The Making of MST

Happy New Year Everyone.  It has been a great year at MST and many of you have contributed your time and energy to making it so.

A great example of this is Christine Rucker's new video 'The Making of MST'.  Her beautiful photographs, exciting and creative video shots and compelling storytelling show her love and appreciation of what we've done at MST.

If you ride at MST you can make your contribution as well.  Use our paypal account to send your contribution to help maintain the trail you ride and help us design and build new trail.  We can't do this without you.  Many have already contributed, but there are more of you out there that need to step up.  Now is the time.  Enjoy and thanks for your support.
